To begin, I would request a video introduction (as we did here) and add a video response requiring students to provide something shocking and interesting that fellow students would be shocked to know about them. I would utilize topic discussions after each subject sections, where each student would be required to post a written response to the prompt and then each student is required to choose a cohort's answer to respond to in the context of the discussion. Depending on number of students, each student is required to choose an issue in Media and Social Justice and provide an online presentation of a current event or topic. Student will then provide a online response. I plan on providing a weekly on interactive lecture and opportunities for "Thursday Virtual Coffee Chat with Professor Mitchell" as weekly time to meet and talk as a class. Each class or weekly ready or subject will be supplement with a video lecture/presentation.
