Hello,
My name is Vanessa Aceves. I am a UIUC Alum, Class of 2019 and a current student at Loyola School of Law. I am reaching out to share an opportunity for underrepresented minorities interested in applying to law school.
The Castillo Scholars Mentorship Program is a student-led program that pairs undergraduate students interested in law school with current law students at Loyola School of Law, as well as faculty or current attorneys. The goal is to increase the number of underrepresented groups in law school and their success in the legal field. We provide:
- 1-1 support in answering questions about law school, getting into law school, and the application process
- one-on-one mentorship with current law students and attorneys
- information and preparation workshops
- social and professional networking
This program is open to anyone who comes from any underrepresented group in the law, including people of minority backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities etc.
If you could please post this flyer at your resource center and share this opportunity in the respective newsletters, I would greatly appreciate it. We are accepting mentee applications until October 14, 2022. Thank you for your time and attention. Please let me know if you have any questions. We appreciate your help sharing this opportunity with interested students and recent alums.
With gratitude,
Vanessa Aceves
