COURSE DESCRIPTION: Examines characteristics of high quality, scientific and research-based interventions, the alignment of instruction to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and how to assist and support teachers in the use of high quality, standards - based and scientifically based instructional practices and assessments. Provides an overview of the use of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis to inform instructional and policy decisions, and leadership on the development of data driven action plans for continuous improvement while meeting the needs of a diverse student body. Emphasis on techniques and leadership competencies to screen students who may be at risk of academic failure; 4 4 Course Credit Hrs. Contact Hrs. monitoring of the effectiveness of instruction proposed for students identified as at risk; and modifying instruction to meet the needs of each student. (ISLLC / IPSSL 1, 2, 3)
