COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The internship is a sustained, continuous, structured and supervised experience lasting for a substantial period of time in which the candidate engages in performance of various aspects of the role and is gradually introduced to the full range of responsibilities associated with the role. Internships take place in all types of situations and settings. During the three semesters of internship, the candidate will work under the direction of an internship mentor and a faculty supervisor to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and performance in (a) data analysis, school improvement, and conducting the school improvement plan (SIP) process (to the extent possible), (b) conducting teacher hiring, faculty evaluation, and professional development, and (c) conducting school-wide management of personnel, resources, and systems for adequacy and equity.
