Course for Archives and Records Management

A hybrid course is to introduce the essential theories, principles, standards, historical development and practices of metadata on descriptive cataloging information resources, including brief traditional cataloging as a part, with an emphasis on metadata to organize and describe various information resources, including electronic and digital information.

An online course is for undergraduates, which provides the essential knowledge and introduction of database structures and database designs specifically used in information storage and retrieval systems, including: the main components of a database, the basic gist to setup database systems, the essential structure and functions for relational databases, the initial skills to design a simple database and a simple relational database.

The course provides both a theoretical and a practical base of knowledge and skills about measurement and evaluation of library and information service, introduces the generic and appropriate measurement and evaluation concepts and methods to evaluation of library and information services, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies

Introduction of digital library, for the principles, architecture, technologies, applications and practices, including planning, designing, managing, metadata and standards, as well as delivering digital information and services.
