I believe that his central argument was about how if America can't own up to the consequences of enslavement, we can't move on as a country. The key words he used in the interview was nurtured, birthed, and injured. He used nurtured and birthed to talk about how white supremacy nurtured enslavement and birthed it. He also says that it is our heritage. He uses injured a lot in his interview especially while talking about black and white children. He uses the educational gap example to show how most black children are injured. He speaks about how if a black child comes injured, a white child won't have the same scars. It wasn't about being poor, although it related, this comes from a racial status. He builds upon Clyde Ross and talks about the housing policies that came across in the 1900s. He also talks about the FHA funding that black Americans were not able to use at that time. The interviewer seems engaged in what he was talking about and asks him questions to explain more on the topic.
