Current Openings
The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago Foundation Scholarship is currently in partnership with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to offer a scholarship grant program to recommend law students for summer break and spring and fall semester internships with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. An internship is a great opportunity to obtain hands-on legal experience and work closely with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. You can read more about the scholarship and the application process HERE.
Law Clerk/Intern Program
The program is highly competitive due to the hands-on, challenging, and relevant work experience law students will be exposed to. We have a team of prosecutors who have earned nationwide recognition for excellence, have a passion for public service, and strive to seek justice for the People we serve. Law Clerks, Graduate and Undergraduate students are paired with one of these outstanding Assistant State’s Attorneys to learn from the best prosecutors during their clerkship. Duties include conducting legal research, preparing memos, partnering with counsel regarding case management and procedural requirements, and assisting courtroom proceeding.
Clerkships are offered all year round (Fall, Spring & Summer). We accept applications and interview candidates on a rolling basis. We post opportunities with the local law schools periodically and generally participate in on-campus interviews. Please note this internship program is unpaid. Read more information on a 711 license and potential funding.
