Directions:

For your first writing assignment, you will write a short essay describing the most impactful experience that shaped how you view formal education. As an alternative, you may write about how an individual in your life shaped how you view formal education. Your essay should be between 500-700 words.

Please write about an experience or a person that you are comfortable sharing aloud with others in the class. Although you will NOT read your piece, you will discuss its contents and main points briefly with the class.

Process Note:

• To complete this assignment, take a few minutes to create a rough outline what your message or main take-way for the reader will be, how you will develop your argument, what evidence you will provide, and how you'd like to conclude your essay.  
• After the outline has been drafted, begin writing.
• Your final submission must be typed and submitted via a WORD document. All assignments are submitted through Moodle; they are not to be emailed.
